Location a bit old, but the chef knows his job. Good thai food.

Quite tasty, but a little more attention to detail would make it even better

From the outside the restaurant is really inconspicuous and also a bit hidden, but if you go inside you will be surprised. I don't know what Thailand looks like, but that's how I would imagine it to be. We are so surprised. Everything is colorful and decorated a bit cheesy, but we thought it was beautiful right away. The restaurant is really small, only 7 tables. One of them to sit on the floor. This creates an atmosphere like in a living room. For that alone I give 5 stars. Operation is a chapter in itself. Yes, with Asians you are always served in a friendly and courteous manner, but it was extra good here. Because there was not so much going on, you could have a short chat and at the end we were shown how to fold the water lily napkins that were on each table. Really good, but 5 stars. Oh yes, there was food too. First of all, we've been eating Asian a lot lately, but not that good. We had the Ban Thai menu. We started with a soup. Since I'm a soup killer, I always order one too. Here is a homemade soup with shrimp and fresh vegetables. There were even fresh tomatoes inside. Fresh coriander and spring onions complete the taste. Then there was chicken skewers with peanut sauce. The sauce alone was awesome. It tastes equally good for every Asian. But here that was topped. There were also dumplings filled with cheese and sweet and sour sauce, which also tasted very different, really great. In addition a small sweet and sour cucumber salad. There were 2 main courses. One time chicken in red curry sauce and one time crispy duck in green coconut curry sauce. I was blown away by the duck sauce, peppery, spicy and the coconut flavor. The chicken wasn't quite as spicy. Everything was originally Thai flavored, so completely different from adapted Asians. That's what I wish for when I want to eat well. For dessert we had baked banana with cream and honey, also very tasty. At the end there was a Thai whiskey. I'm not a fan of Alkehol, but it was delicious. For the food 6 stars, that was so good. We spent 2.5 hours in the restaurant. The food was not just served quickly, but always with a little distance. I had a great evening with my wife. We talked, drank and ate and then went home in a good mood and fully fed. Oh, I also had a Thai beer 🍺 problem, hmmm very good. We have already chosen what we will eat next, it is advisable to have a look at the menu in advance on the Internet, it is really extensive. A small downer, the men's toilet is not the best. Clean, yes, but could use a renovation. It does not do justice to the beautiful dining room. All in all, compared to my other reviews, I would have to give 6 stars 🌟 or subtract 1 or 2 from everyone else. We will definitely be regular customers there.

Cozy, manageable, authentic cuisine and good service. You can taste that the food is freshly prepared and gladly accept a bit of waiting time. Apart from the excellent taste, even the most hungry will be satisfied. We were there for the first but definitely not for the last time. In any case, call ahead and reserve!

Today happened to discover the restaurant online and ordered there. We can only recommend it to everyone. Everything was very tasty, fresh and when you eat you can taste that everything is really homemade and nothing is bought. The dishes in which a chilli can be seen are also hotter, so not like in others where 1 chilli pepper means mild. For people who like to eat spicy, this is perfect. Will definitely go again!

The shop is a bit hidden, but it's worth it. Nice ambience, nice service, delicious food. We had a menu for two, it was really delicious and also perfect in terms of quantity. Authentically prepared dishes and super fresh. We would love to come back.

Unfortunately we waited 50 minutes for the food after ordering, but it was very tasty. Service was very nice. Vil needs the o that one in the kitchen support.

Delicious a bit of a long wait but worth it

We were there with 4 people on a Friday night and ordered cocktails, starters and main courses. Everything was super delicious (definitely try the Knockout Cocktail 😉)! The waiting times were absolutely fine for the fully booked restaurant, the service was very friendly and we had a really great evening. I can only recommend trying this restaurant.

If you like to eat Asian foods in Wetzlar, Ban Thai is the one. They open at 6pm. It's very near from the Cathedral Church at the Square. The food is good and the owner is very kind.

Highly recommended, with an empty restaurant, the food came quickly, everything is freshly prepared and can also be adjusted. Vegetarian food is not possible (due to the fish sauce used), but that does not matter to us. The service is very nice and wishes, can explain the card and recommend dishes. CAUTION: Sharp also means hot, who wants something milder should limit itself to the food, which are explicitly not spicy.

Great red curry in a cozy and authentic Thai. Good selection and compilation of the card. Sharpness exactly as indicated and not too mild as with others. Nice service that could be a bit more attentive. The right decoration could be complemented by the right wanderlust music. If I should be in cute Wetzlar again I would love to come back.
